17:30 – 23:30
Venue: Beer Nouveau, 75 North Western Street, M12 6DY (10 mins walk from Piccadilly Station)
Open Kitchen MCR - a wonderful food waste social enterprise - and Beer Nouveau - a local independent brewery - have partnered up to turn food wasted from over production into a range of delicious beer! To accompany this wonderful idea, the organisers offer a variety of small plates that are also created from food waste. At it's core, SURPLUS brings eco-friendliness and social good together.
Note from the organisers:
Join us on the 2nd Friday of every month (hopefully getting more regular as we go along!) for great food and fab beer, all with an eco twist! Stamping out food waste, feeding bellies not bins, and getting a little bit tipsy in the process.
Beer Served from 4pm - 10.30pm, food served from 5.30pm until we run out (usually wrapping up around 8.30pm).
Eventbrite ticket not essential, but very much appreciated, as it helps us to know how many people are coming, so we can plan our food prep, and REDUCE FOOD WASTE (which is our entire mission, so please help us).
All small plates £5. Proceeds go to support our community work providing hot nutritious meals to people who are having a hard time in this incredibly crappy economy. Let's all look after each other.
Note from Circular City MCR: Vox describes food waste as the "world's dumbest problem" and that is probably the best way to put it... This is why we highly encourage making SURPLUS your go to Friday event every month. You'll enjoy a beer, great food and support an awesome eco-social cause!
